vbunk

vbunk is a video host. though its a bit different from traditional video hosts because 90% of the site is inside of the flash player (you can access the player at http://vbunk.com/vbunk.swf or go to http://vbunk.com/ and click on "videos") most of the traffic doesnt ever load any html page ever from vbunk it goes straight to the swf file (not embed). those for who it doesnt work? too bad! there is already way too much traffic anyways, and it is more convenient this way because it alows you to resize the application at will.. also due to the way that the site is built, i need ads inside of my flash player!... i could not find any affiliate program that supports putting their ads in flash except "mochi ads" but they say they only support games and i dont like their ad (is there for 15 seconds at the beginning and then goes to your "game", some kind of "interstitial" ad for flash...) plus, in the end, their ad did not work with internet explorer 6, it was making the whole site unusable on internet explorer 6... but, in flash you can load pictures, and you can make things that when clicked, link to somewhere else, in the same window or another, just like in HTML... so what i did is that i used the affiliate programs like this one, clickbooth, affilitates.888.com, platinumbucks and any affiliate program that lets me get the ads in a picture/link format so i can incorporate them to my ad database, which will put them in the ad rotation that happens when people load videos. my system to display the ads on the vbunk player takes account of the country of the visitor and the countrie(s) that the ad applies to. it only displays ads that apply to the country of visitors and also has ads in over 10 languages, which are applied to the right countries too.. also i calculate the number of time each ad is dislayed, each click on an ad and aslo instead of linking to the ads directly i link to a page of mine that counts the hit and redirects to the ad url (to count a click that has not been blocked by the popup blocker...)... i try to set my EPPC (estimated pay per click (in cents US)) manually for each ad and make a big formula with all that to always show the 10 best money ads to each visitor and rotate them each 15 seconds :) ... of course this beautiful system might be subject to changes and tune ups at any time... so far i have not really made so much money even though i have had quite a lot of traffic, but i have just started using affiliatebot... also i still need to ad a lot more ads in my db and do some more tuning up the scripts!... so thats pretty much how it works....
